First. Get off my back about having used SiteBuilder. If you want to convert my site for free. Have at it. But I don't have the time right now.
I got into having an online web presence via the all in one package from Yahoo!. But I have gotten tired of limitations, price, support staff with IQ's of less than 50, and so on...
The question I have is I want to pay less than $40 a month in web hosting. Any recommendations for a fast web hosting site. ( If you've seen my site, the pages are heavy, but Alexa says I'm still 60% faster than most other sites.) If I switch who could I use for a shopping cart. I already use PayPal to handle my transactions, please refer to: ( http://forums.site-reference.com/topic/ … page3.html), so I have been toying with the idea of using PayPal to handle my shopping cart as well.
So what I have is a file full of .html files built on site builder, will using those files on another host cause any problems? I already know that I will need to manually convert everything that normally carries over from the catalog.xml. Which I don't mind.
Your suggestions would be appreciated. But if you want to choke my chicken about using sitebuilder, you better include an offer to rebuild my site for free. Or keep your trap shut in that regard.
Thank you.

Hello Michael,
I use Ipower.com
Take a look at some of the other members signatures. Some of them like Matte have links to their suggested hosts.

SiteBuilder is not well-liked among many Webmasters, even though alot of people use it to build their sites, which produces 100's of errors in their code ... but, I've been with the same host for over 5 years, of whom they do guarantee 99% Uptime Guarantee -- they provide so many services, you can review them for yourself on their Hosting site, of which they also give you Site Studio once you sign up and ask them to install it in your CPanel; you can even go thru their Site Studio Demo if you'd like to see how it works with so many easy-to-use templates since you "don't have time".

You will, find dozens of sub$40pm hosts out there.
Yes check my sig - they have site management software et al free. I have many sites with them.
For a cart look at mals-e.com - its free and very good (a paid version gives a few extra features , but not essential).
I briefly tried "mals-e.com" and was not impressed at all -- maybe alot of people use it, but personally I didn't like it.

I started using it 4 years or more ago when there were 20,000 user only so last I heard this number had increased exponentially. It is only getting bigger and better and will do just about anything. Great support user group as well.
Oh and it is free
Ther's not too much not to like about it...

I like to have a reseller account, even though I don't resell hosting. It gives you control to set up multiple sites, test sites, etc. lightningservers.net has these accounts starting at $24.99 per month.
Hello,
is anyone using OSCommerce and if so, was setting up, running and maintaining OK? Also,
is anyone in UK using shared hosting at a good price?
Hi Michael,
Moving your site will not be an issue and if you want to keep using site building software on a lower cost reliable host I'd recommend Lunarpages, Hostican, or HostMonster. Check my sig for more hosts. I use dreamweaver, free scripts, and site builders once in a while too. I like to use Lunarpages free CoffeeCup site building software for certain pages and projects. Good luck Michael!
