Hi Everyone! The wait is over, we will now begin the contest! Rules are listed below. First things first, what everyone has been waiting for...THE TOPIC!

The topic for this contest is: A New Site Reference Logo.

Keep in mind this is just for fun. Entries will be voted on by anyone who wishes to vote. Anyone is welcome to post their entries here.

To be fair, I have created place for everyone to upload their images should they not have somewhere to do so. If you prefer your own server, that is fine. For those that would like to use it, go to http://www.swjc.net/contest/upload.php

Rules:

1.) This is a just-for-fun contest. This will not show in any way that someone is better than someone else. Flaming is NOT permitted. Period. Degrading remarks or insulting comments will not be tolerated and will be handled in accordance to the Forum Rules.

2.) You may use any program or design method available to you.

3.) Contestants may NOT vote on their own entries.

4.) Deadline for entry is Tuesday, Sept 19th. No votes are to be cast until Wednesday, September 20th. I will be asking SR to place a link to this thread in Wednesday's newsletter to maximize exposure to this contest. Votes can be cast in public (on this thread) or via PM to me, if you wish to keep your vote private.

5.) Votes will be tallied on Monday, September 25th and the winner will be announced.

These rules are subject to change and modification.

Here's my entry. Hope I've done the link right.

Not a winner for several reasons, but a bit of fun.

You'll see that I've left out the commer before the "and" because I don't think it's gramatically correct.

Those are pretty good.

Just a thought - it might be interesting if you guys told us a bit about your submission like what software you used to make it, or what effects you used - you know stuff like that.

I would find that interesting anyway, possibly some other people would too ?

It might help those of us who are graphics challenged.

I also quite liked how it worked with the colours inversed, so I'll enter this too.

hey everyone, only really caught on this morning & noticed the deadline is today so here's a real simple idea in progress but i've got to get on with some work now. Some of the above designs are very nice indeed, i know which one i'm voting for, unless theres some late entries...

I just figured I'd try the obvious -- go with the Site Reference current logo and tweak it just a tad, keeping the simplistic theme, but giving it that world wide web concept, too.


I'd answer the questions about how I made this, but, not being a graphic designer, and not even playing one on TV, I'll assume you wanted info from those who really do know what they're doing.

My first attempt. Ha ha, now I feel like a jerk for talking smack when this contest was announced!

I'm going to try and whip out one more before the day's over.....
