What a great article.
A lot of what those of us who do site reviews are repeating review after review.
The design issues stated should be mandatory reading for new designers.
Not to mention some of the other not so new designers.

Hmmmm what about #4;
‘This happened because the keeper of that website is using the search keyword phrase ‘cat jewelry’ for their website because they found out it is a popular keyword. This is known as keyword spamming.’
Anyways, am I to assume these are not all that common sense tips? I am going to assume this is targeted at DIY web designers not professional. While the tips are good, they seem a bit ‘no-brainer’ for me.
Once again, I am a little tainted being in the industry.

Although I'm a designer/developer/SEOist, I'm agreeing with the article from a surfer's point of view - something everyone in the development chain should be capable of, as a developer's skill

Then I am DEFINATELY onside.. (other than #4)...
Design the site for the audience and to serve it's purpose. I HATE an over done design/build. People, for the most part, want to get in, do what they need to do and get out. Make it as easy and pleasurable experience as possible....

Agreed.
One of my biggest peeves is clicking on a link describing what I am looking for and going to a completely different type of website.
Do the webmasters(and I use the "master" lightly) of sites that do this really think that this is beneficial. Most people I talk to about this are like me instantly hit the back button or close the window.

You know, when I started SR, I would have never considered publishing this article as a lead article - then I opened the Site Review Please forums. Just go through some of the review requests that we have received - there are a lot of SR readers that need to see a list like this.
Yes, it is basic, but SR does cover some more basic material...always has.

Yeah I am with that. Like I said I wasn't sure whom it was aimed at..lol. It did get me thinking about the whole 'Web Design' aspects as far as their 'place in the chain' of things as far as web development is concerned.
I spat out a 1000 word bitty on it... I shall pass it to ya (SR) to do as U please and let ya'll know when I post it some where.... all of this does beg the question, for me at least as to where the web design fits into the big picture.
