2 Quick Questions

i have 2 questions regarding newsletters.

1.  Is there a site/program where I can create/design a newsletter w/graphics that is free or not costing an arm, leg and/or a kidney?  I've been subscribing to a number of eNews of late & want to to something "outside the box".

2.  Is there a way I can send a eNews to people on a list without the eNews automatically going to the "Bulk" section or being accused of spamming?  I have a email list of over 800 & I want to send the eNews out to get them to subscribe to the eNews.  I've currently been sending it out thru Yahoo & when I ask some of the people I sent it to, they say it was sent to their "bulk" mail or that they never received it.

Thank you.

Re: 2 Quick Questions

Doing a newsletter is tricky...its easy to get accused of spam because people often forget that they signed up for the newsletter in the first place.  What I would do is build your list through an opt-in format, preferrably a double opt-in format.

As far as a program is concerned, there are a few programs out there that are free, but I cannot vouch for how good they are.  Check out hotscripts.com for mailing list managers.

Before you do a mailing, make sure you understand fully the rules of spam and bulk mail so you don't get in trouble.  An errant mailing campaign can cost you a ton of trouble.

A few things to do when running a mailing campaing:

1.  Make sure you have records of how each person signed up.  Most newsletter programs will record this for you.
2.  Make sure the sending e-mail address that you are using has a reverse DNS pointer.
3.  Make sure that the sending mail address is valid, or at least will not send out any sort of autoresponder.
