Difference between GAnalytics and GAdSense
I have a website with implemented Google Analytics code. Also I run AdSense at my website.
When I check Google Analytics, it shows me that about 1200 pages were shown. But in AdSense only about 600. Why is that?

Re: Difference between GAnalytics and GAdSense
Do you have Adsense on all of your pages? Also, are your ads still showing public service ads?
My other guess would be that they use different measuring techniques. Website stats is certainly not an exact science. More than anything else, stats should be used as a trend analyzer, not as absolute values. I run up to 3 different stats programs for SR, and the difference between visitors is significant. The one thing they do agree on is how the traffic is trending.

Re: Difference between GAnalytics and GAdSense
As I know if you have more than
one ad unit on a page (say 3) then
ad impressions are counted for all of them.
So, if the page was shown 15 times,
ad impressions would be 45.
This way, ad impressions are not
a good measurement for your web stats.

Re: Difference between GAnalytics and GAdSense
That used to be the case, but they fixed that problem about a year ago as it would give a false CTR.

Re: Difference between GAnalytics and GAdSense
Yes, may be that's because of differences in statistic counting methods.
However, I have AdSense code at the same pages where I have GAnalytics code. And taking into account that statistic counting methods should be the same, as they are provided by the same provider - Google, there shouldn't be difference of factor 2.

Re: Difference between GAnalytics and GAdSense
Well, they are actually not provided by the same provider - one is solely Google while the other is Urchin. Google did buy Urchin, but the company still exists pretty much autonomously from Google. In addition, Analytics was developed well after and well independent of any statistical methods Google was using.
Ironically enough, Urchin doesn't even agree with themselves. Google analytics varies greatly from the server side install of Urchin that I have (well more than a factor of 2).
