Hi
I have two websites concerned with pet portraits, landscapes and general writings about animals.
I have just built another  site featuring my 11 essays only. They are also on one of my other sites
(www.jamescollins.org) and I'm reluctant to delete them. I'm wondering if I will be penalised by search engine spiders if I leave the essays on both sites.

With my limited experience, I do know that duplicate content is not a good idea. There may be exceptions such as RSS feeds and Blogs (others can verify or deny this), but in your case I do believe you are asking for trouble with duplicate content.

I did a search on "duplicte content". Not only will it get you penalized, but you risk being banned as well.

Sorry to see you've dropped off the front page without getting a reply, James.

There have been numerous questions about this and much discussion on the forum.

The opinion of the experts seems to be that so long as it's not the whole page, template and all, that is duplicated, you'll be OK.

Add a bit of other stuff so that the pages on both sites are dissimilar.
