Re: Read This First Please
Hi
, I'd like to take this time to introduce myself.
My name is Margaret. I'm new here and thanks to SiteReference Forum, I'm trying to find new inexpensive ways to advertise my website. I make handmade jewelry with all different type of materials. I would greatly appreciate any of you who reads this to check out my website listed here in my signature. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to either reply back to me here or see my email page on my website. If any of you know of any other places that I can place ads to promote my website, I'd greatly appreciate your input on that also. I hope to also be able to do business with any of you who read this and who like to purchase jewelry.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read.......

That's hysterical! I've been asked that too, but I usually just say "only when there's no giraffes available" and let them go on misinformed...
I wonder if they think Eskimos still live in igloos and Egyptians still walk around in fancy head dresses as well?

Re: Read This First Please
I used to play along when i was a kid... told them i was using a computer i stole from the national geographic people who got spat out by the giant bird. I was lucky enough to have an electric generator powered by the cow poo floors of my house... and even luckier than that, the 12 people sharing my house stopped being afraid of the bright blinking box after a while.
They ate it up to, and reversal was fun... asking american kids if they werent worried about being eaten by injuns and telling the german guys i was really a jew in hiding... really amusing back in the day. Nowadays, some people still think africa is in the dark ages but its easier to freak em out... "what? you live in montanna you say? thats very brave..." "why?" "Dont you watch the news... dont you know about the sniper? oops, they were probably trying to avoid a full blown panic..." "AAAAARGH!!!!!
"
But i really do enjoy the company of people who are not shocked by my loin cloth being made outa denim.
Lots of really cool people on this Forum

Howdy, Greetings from Florida.
My name is Mario and I am a new member of Site Reference, trying to get noticed by others and, hopefully, generate some business to my website (pc repair business & pc diagnostic tools for sale.).
Anyways, I've been bouncing in & out for a lil bit & finally decided to bite the bullet & join.
Hopefully I can help others with their sites as well as get help for mine too.
Be seeing y'all 'round the forum.

Re: Read This First Please
Hi ALL,
I have been reading the SR newsletter for a while and it has helped me be a webmaster on an ecomerce site, url removed, that I setup. To help publicize the site I setup and maintain a BLOG, url removed. We are going to renovate an inactive website that the company has, url removed.
At the same time I am setting up to start hosting websites for small business.
I look forward to the information and comments from SiteReference.

Re: Read This First Please
Hi,
My name is Janina and I just joined what seems to be a very interesting place. I have read some of the introductions and am amazed at the variety of locations. I see people here from Florida, and around the world.
I was involved with the internet back in the old days when you did not have graphics. Does anyone remember commodor computers? Everything was so simple then. Now you have about a trillion web sites. (counting my two)
I have two web hosting companies on line now and am trying to make this work. I can do flashy sites but preferr a clean cut site that gets to the point when you are trying to sell something. I am particular about what I will do and won't do.
That's enough about me.
I do welcome any one that wants a link put on my pages, and do not require reciprocity links.

Re: Read This First Please
Hello everyone! Just another one of Those People who have been reading the newsletter but just decided to join. I was involved with another forum through my hosting company and got veeeeeeeeeeeeery disillusioned. I am not asking for a site review because when I did that before the advice I got was more harmful than useful and I really didn't like the snotty way the administrators dealt with site reviews. So I guess I am still smarting from that. I am actually here more for SEO than anything. There are so many conflicting opinions on how to optimize, but I really appreciate the info in the SR newsletter. So-here I am, trying this forum thing again. So far I love what I have read. Everyone seems so SMART! Maybe I will be, too, someday...

Re: Read This First Please
Welcome to the forum doggybooty,
Site reviews are sometimes harsh but usually meant in a positive manner. They can be beneficial, even for the basics of seo.
If you are really looking for seo help then you will find a lot of that here. Search the forums SEO threads, you will find the answers to most of the commonly asked questions. If you have a specific question then be sure to post it in the proper category. Different members with their area of expertise will frequent that area.
Jump in participate, learn and share. The three most important things you can do to increase what you learn from the forum.
The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible
