Are you new to these forums? Take a moment to introduce yourself to the community. We love to find out about new members and this is the perfect place for you to tell us a little about yourself.
A Couple of Guidelines
The guidelines here are pretty simple and are detailed here in much more detail. What you really need to know is that we want people to be nice to each other, but honest, and to not needlessly advertise your site. Pretty simple rules...
Take a Moment to Add Your Website to Your Signature
If you have not done so yet, goto your profile and add your website to your profile. This is a great way to let people know what your site is without including it in every post. We ask that members use their signature to help keep our posts tidy.
Any Questions at All?
Next to this post you will see a link called "PM". I am always available to take questions through the PM system and would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Please let me know if you do have any questions. If you have a suggestion, feel free to let it be known in the Feedback and Suggestions forum!

Re: Read This First Please
Hi
My name is Andrew.
I have been subscribed to the Site Reference newsletter for a while now. I was keen at building my own website for my business and I found this site. The articles are great, and I find them informative for planning my own build. I am currently unhappy with my website at the moment, My current webmaster is fired he has done a poor job with poor service.
Any way good stuff here, very helpful.
Cheers

Re: Read This First Please
Hi there, my name is Kev Green, I'm the owner of The Orange Pages.com, I read the rules so won't put my url here as it will get deleted by the moderators which is cool, as this shouldn't be a place for free advertising. This does leave me in a pickle though for I wanted people to go and review my new design for my directory which is being re-built 'on the fly' so to speak as a result of being kicked in the head by the Google Jagger which brought our last database to its knees for 6 months. We have to review both the old database, and new submission now and have employed a script with a category structure I'd like your expert opinion on. And of course I'm here to learn lots of other things as the email shots are quite interesting.
Anyway, that's me, if you want to know more details about the boring life of an exex in the World of search engines and directories just contact me.

Hi, my name is Alan and after being disillusioned with web building companies decided to try to learn as much as I could and do it myself. Websites like Site Reference provide a source of valuable information and guidance throughout the learning curve - keep up the good work !

You are allowed to post your URL in the Site Review section of these forums. There, your site will be open for review.

Re: Read This First Please
There is often discussion on links in posts held amongst the moderators.
Essentially links are OK as long as they are adding something to the discussion. The links can be placed in the right place when asking for a site review, but not scattered will-nilly through posts. The moderators read enough posts, and are soooo familiar with the mood and culture of posting here that obvious ads and attempts at baclinking are rslly quite obvious.
95% of people do the right thing, so we only have to edit out links a few times a week.
Such is the community feel of this forum that people soon see that it is bursting with good info, helpful advice and worthwhile content - something that does not encourage what one could call the 'wrong'elements'

Re: Read This First Please
hello friends
My name is Horia, I read this forum for some time and I found useful things here; now maybe it's join time, late, because as somebody says before, there are so much to learn in so little time. Mainly I do graphic design, as anybody can see visiting my site (or what left of it after bigdaddy
) and under the circumstances I was forced to do some SEO (nothing pro, just basic survival stuff ), much learned from here, but from other forums too...
thanks

Welcome aboard!
Being a moderator doesnt mean the knowledge of us regular users should be taken with less authority....there are plenty of people here who are not moderators that know just as much.
And then you have moderators like TA, who you should just avoid at all costs. LOL Just kidding!

Re: Read This First Please
Hi everybody, just registered and this is my first posting to this site although I have been lurking for some time and found it extremely helpful in building my first website. Peace and love from sunny Cardiff. Off to see how I post my site on here for review now.
