I need to change the banner on the site I have been building for my boss. The problem is, I inherited the banner from the previous developer and I have no idea how she made it. I need to change to text from Cox Financial to Cox & Company. Can anyone help me please?

Probablt easiest to just create a new one - it does not look that hard. Hardest bit would be identifying the font used if you wanted a perfect match

Matte is correct -- it'll be far easier to create your own; so, I'll suggest a fantastic Banner Maker software that you can use Free for 30 days, and create different banners of which your Boss will have a hard time choosing from -- download it here

Hmmm, does not look too complex, i would do this:
1. get the size of the banner, open up a new canvas in photoshop with the same size
2. Fill it with the same color as the banner which can be easily done with a pixe color picker or you can take a screenshot of your screen and then paste it on your canvas and then get the color that way..
3. Then using the selection tool, select out that house picture..
4. For the text, you can use this site:
http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/
This site will try to identify the name of the font used, in a matter of seconds! And then if it cannot do so, you can visit their forum and you will get support there.  After getting the font name..just search it at www.dafont.com and download it, and then use it to write you text on your canvas!

Not too hard, it seems long ^^ but really easy!
